CAFOD Lent Collection

CAFOD LENT COLLECTION

Thank you for returning your donations to school.  A cheque has been sent off for £129.40.  Well done to all and thank you once again for your generosity.

Polite Reminder

Please remember to come into the playground to meet your children at the end of the school day.

We would appreciate parents of older pupils not to wait near the gate/reception classroom as Mrs Mason needs to be able to see reception children's parents before she allows them to leave.

Blame it on the boogie!

There was bling, big wigs and bopping all in the name of raising money for our wonderful school on Friday afternoon!  We held a sponsored disco dance where each class had to dance for a set amount of time and get sponsored for doing so.  Here are some pictures which show the glorious afternoon that we had.  Bring in those sponsor forms and money asap please!

Robin the Storyteller comes back to St. Joseph's!

Robin enthralls Year 2,3, and 4 pupils.

The stories were full of fairies, princesses and monsters! Thank you Robin, the children loved it.

The opening of the new building!
On Friday last week the school was full of VIP's who had come especially to see our new building.
The vistors arrived at break time and the children gathered in the hall to hear Mr. David Drew who is our local member of parliament, and Mr. McNiff who works in the diocese say some words about how exciting and useful the new building will be.
It has a staff room, disabled toilet, children's toilets and a multi-purpose room for out-of-school club, pre-school and the foundation stage.
After, the children were treated to ice-creams by the PTA and then the whole school gathered on the field so that each and every child in St. Joseph's could let off gold and blue balloons as a celebration.
Finally, chair of governors, Mr. Gwyer, spoke to staff, visitors and children about what a great opportunity the building will give us and said thank you to all of those involved in the planning and organisation.

What a healthy week!

Last week was incredibly fun. Here is a selection of photos to show you some of the things that we got up to...we were so healthy! Waitrose kindly donated 2 boxes of delicious fruit which got devoured, drawn and dissected!
Miss Steele did body combat for Year 2,3,4,5 and 6 and fireman Adrian came in on Friday to tell us the important lesson of being safe and checking that our smoke alarms work.
We learnt about the great work that CAFOD do and many of us made our own health week diaries.
Have a sneaky peek below...
